Maybe you have one banner or maybe you have a thousand banners. How many you have does not really matter. What matters is using what you’ve got in the most effective way possible. You want people to see your banner, click on your banner, and then be taken to your clean, usable, attractive, informative (it better be) website and purchase your product or service.

Job done.
Easy.

Why then, if it is so easy, do people come up with so many dumbass ways of trying to accomplish this simple process? Maybe they tend to forget that it is a PROCESS and every step is critical if you want it to work.
